Konga and Jumia are both E commerce giants in Nigeria where we make commercial transactions electronically on the Internet.
I’m not in to tarnish or make wrong sayings about a company but to make facts readily available to you based on credibility,Logistics, availability of products, dignity and smartness.
According to users reviews from Nairaland , konga was given more preference in terms of logistics and delivery time in the past while jumia receive mostly negatives feed backs, but as the years went on, the positive reviews sour and jumia began to top on delivery.
Site Ranking and Traffic
From Alexa traffic rank, konga ranks 20th in Nigeria and 4015th globally having about 33,209 unique visitors daily.
On the other end of the coin jumia ranks 7th place in Nigeria and 1097th in the world with a total visit of about 122,544 unique visitors. this is about 3 times that of konga.
why is this so, when jumia has had very negative reviews and bad user experience in the past years?.
Jumia has intensified its marketing by having several agents and improving their customer support having known their pitfalls.
Also jumia have better referral rates compared to konga for affiliates marketers of which Paschal Okafor of Naijatechguide and many other bloggers are in affiliation, thereby increasing their customer base.
Cost and Availability
Sincerely, from experience products on jumia are way more expensive when compared to konga,on availablity konga still tops. We also need to plot a graph against cost and reliability of the goods sold.
Am not trying to buttress that either make sales of fake goods, but whats are the checkmates set in place in order to curb vendors on their site from making sales of such goods to customers.
Jumia beats konga in this aspects has vendors on jumia tends to sale more reliable goods.
With konga cash refunds are not done, defective items can be exchanged for another one if the item is brought back within seven days from the date of receipt and if the item has not been damaged.
Where the buyer initiates a return for non defective product for instance on receiving the product you no longer want, then the said customer will have to bear the shipping cost but where the company determines that the product is indeed defective, they will reimburse the cost of return shipping.
Jumia on the other hand is more generous with their return time policy. Customers are allowed up to 14 days from the delivery date to get an exchange or even cash return as the case may be.
Konga really needs to improve with their customer based has jumia has done over time .
