Google decided to finally unveil the moniker of the next iteration of Android. Simply known as “O”. If you are still using Kitkat or lollipop, its time to dust it off and upgrade to at least Android 6.0.
Google code named Android 8.0 Oreo
Android Oreo is supposed to be faster, smarter and more powerful than any of the previous versions of the mobile platform.
Google also says that by the end of the year you should expect devices from Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony to either launch with or be upgraded to Android Oreo.

Project Treble: The biggest change to the foundations of Android to date: a modular architecture that makes it easier and faster for hardware makers to deliver Android updates.
Notification categories: – More granular and consistent control over which notifications can appear and how intrusive they are.
Notification snoozing: Lets users hide notifications for a period of time, similar to Inbox snoozing.
